Ok,
I have been playing since 4th grade. I am 65. I have developed a buzzing when i am playing at the same pitch as the note i am playing. Weirdest thing i have ever experienced. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. _________________ Thanks

It might mean that the rim is now not a good (best) fit on your lips.
Also maybe you're trying to use too little rim pressure. _________________ Most Important Note ? - the next one !
KNOW (see) what the next note is BEFORE you have to play it.
PLAY the next note 'on time' and 'in rhythm'.
Oh ya, watch the conductor - they set what is 'on time'. |

First thing, check your water key corks and check for a leak in the instrument somewhere.
If not that,. it's probably a "double buzz".
It's often caused by tired, swollen chops or a Mouthpiece placement that has moved (usually lower on the top lip).
Can also be caused by a bottom lip hitting the top teeth, in which case both lips need to be realigned between the teeth.
It happens because both lips are vibrating independently and interfering with each other. In reality, one lip is the primary vibrator. |
