Huh. I would have thought the LSO is the premiere orchestra to be a part of in that country.

Steady, monthly salary as opposed to "per service"-pay might have something to do with it...

I know it would've for me.

Oh! Is that how they work? Wow. I guess I genuinely had no idea. In the USA almost all full-time orchestras, and especially those of the caliber of the LSO, are on salary, and a pretty high salary at that.
