I have a Lawler 5S. If my memory hold, Roy himself told me these were originally designed by Fred Powell when worked with Roy. They were made by Terry Warburton and loosely based on Warburton sizes. The 5S I have is VERY similar to the Warburton 5's I have. I would guess the 3 is close to the 3 or 4 rim of Warburton. Honestly, I'd ask Terry Warburton to get clarification.

I have two of them. jazztrum has the story correct. I was a "dealer" for these mpcs at the onset in the mid 1990's? There was a "kit" of five I believe. Don't remember the details. Fred produced a nice brochure which to my dismay I have lost. I sold most of my original "kit", kept two and I think after the original run they were never produced again. My two are 1D's. Which I think correspond to Warburton 3MD. My Lawler 1D weighs 1/2 oz heavier (@ 3 5/8 oz) than my Warburton 3MC. A GR weighs 3 5/8 also.

I am a little confused, if the 1D is close to Warburton 3MC the 3S is smaller I guess than Warburton 3S right?

giakara, I only mentioned the 3MC because it's the only Warburton I have for measuring purposes. The Lawler's are noticeably heavier than Warburton stock mpcs. I also compared the cup depth of my Warburtons to the Lawlers. The Warb 3MC is shallower than the Lawler 1D. I'm sure the Lawler 1D is a Warburton 3MD because that is what I played back then.

I don't remember how may sizes the Lawlers (by Warburton) came in. I do remember that it was confusing trying to equate the sizes to Warburtons. But there was a direct correlation. It seems the 3S you won would be a smaller diameter cup and shallow. Possibly a shallow Bach 5 ? There were a lot more sizes available than my small demo kit. Without a "brochure" it is difficult to figure out the exact comparisons.

The Lawler mpcs never worked for me very long or for anyone I sold them to. If they had I would have a lot more than two left. I'm using one today in practice just because you brought it up.

I prefer mpc's in 17.00_17.20 size , if is smaller I cant play it , cup depth is not a problem , actually I prefer to be a shallow cup , if you find that brochure please post it or send it to me , thanks for the infos.
