Hello everyone, my name Bobby and I am returning to my trumpet after many years. I played in elementary/middle school band in Franklin County VA. At 53 I have pulled my trusty old Yamaha YTR 232 out and am excited to be practicing and playing daily. My goal is to learn to play Jazz, but today its Happy Birthday and G major scale. This forum is a wealth of information and I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Glad you are back at it. I came back after a 50 year break, and at the ripe old age of 79. So it should be a cinch for you at 53. Today, 6 years later, I am playing with one of the best bands in the area.
Get some help from a professional if you can. Good luck, young man.

George

Welcome back. Have fun, go slow, and solicit the advice of a teacher.

Best wishes!

Welcome back Bobby. There are many returning/comeback players here, myself included. I picked up the trumpet 12 years ago, after a 20-year lay-off.
