A melodic horn player from Norway. From the Skala album released on ECM 2011 and my favourite track on said recording.

I've been listening to his music for awhile now and his sound is so personal and unique all on an old Bach 37 he told me his parents bought for him as a kid. Even the 1st valve slide saddle broke off he told me. He plays nova 3c. Beautiful player.

Very nice. (I play violin myself)

I've watched a couple of his performances on Jazz Baltica now - prior to your posting this one, and he skirts a soundscape approach in quite a few (not a bad thing at all).

On a related note - Have you ever listened to Amsterdam Blue by Jon Hassell? Soundscape style trumpet player. This track is the music that inspired me to learn trumpet in the first place.

Thanks for this. I was wondering what he used. I iniitally thought it might be a Martin Committee 'cause of its lovely thick sound.

If you see him again, let him know he has a fan in Australia!

Just go on his Facebook and message him. That's what I did. He's a nice regular cat and will get back to you. He got back to me.

Thanks anyway man.
