Hi everyone,
I know we have some wonderful young players on here, as well as no shortage of prolific teachers.
I am the chairperson of the NEBB Stan Whitlock Competition. It is open to all brass and percussion instruments age 14-18 that reside in the U.S. $1500 cash (thanks to a generous sponsorship by Virtuosity Music, and the Stan Whitlock Fund), plus concerto performance with New England Brass Band under direction of Terry Everson (who needs no introduction in these parts).
Basic rules are: solo piece for brass instrument or percussion, an unedited video 8 minutes or less with published brass band accompaniment (NTC videos are great!), plus small entry fee, due December 15. Our unaffiliated, non-local, professional prelim judges will review, and finalists will be announced shortly thereafter, invited to perform on our public Finalists Recital on January 17, in Wilmington, MA, from which a winner will be selected.
