Conn 80A conundrum: I have now two Conn cornets, within about a year of each other serial number wise (I can get the numbers if anyone is interested, both around 1923) that both appear to be 80As. Neither of them has a model number on the receiver. They both have the star on the second valve. Thing is, they have different length receivers. Some details are different, too, like the ridges on the valve caps. The one with the longer receiver says "Victor" on the bell, the other one just says C.G. Conn, etc. The finish is different, too. One horn is obviously satin silver, the other hasn't been polished yet, but looks like non-satin silver. The satin silver one seems to play darker. The one with the shorter receiver is an earlier model. The one on the right looks like it starts out as a larger bore.
