OK, now that the auction is over, who got it?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403290655489

Roy Hempley's articles on Bach's bugles is here
https://www.tapsbugler.com/bachs-bugles-part-1/
https://www.tapsbugler.com/bachs-bugles-part-2/

I see nothing like this one mentioned.

The selling price seems to indicate that at least a couple of people believe this is the real deal.

Interesting!

Model 106..... Bell material Bronze...... Leadpipe material Bronze...... Valve type Piston..... And if those clues are not enough, you would think the non-Bach braces, the drastic step change from leadpipe to slide sleeve, or the lower sleeve extending a foot with a drastic step change to the bell tail inserted inside it, would tell someone this is a cobbled-up creation.

I thought a few yeas back when a G bugle almost built like one of Bach's (except for the short lengths and improper added unions splicing them) with an almost perfect copy of the bell crest from a trombone (the number then giving away the tracing -as did the slipping of the copy/reducing tool widening the "Y") sold for hundreds, that was sad. This is just stunning.

I almost feel bad for whomever got played.

Looks like the 106 was returned to the seller and is now selling under a different ID.
