Does anyone know what mouthpiece will fit into a besson? I've already tried all the main brands and everything seems to be too small to fit snug. Any recommendations?

just to be sure we understand the problem. When a mouthpiece is inserted, it bottoms out touching the end of the leadpipe and wobbles around - right?

If that's the problem you can:
1. Replace the receiver - maybe just move it.
2. Switch to a two piece mouthpiece system and order a backbore with a larger shank (Warburton)
3. Switch to a mouthpiece with a "sleeve" system such as Reeves or Frost and use a larger diameter sleeve.
4. Purchase a custom made mouthpiece with a larger diameter shank.(You would have to figure out the diameter you need.)

If a mouthpiece wobbles around but the shank end is a considerable distance from the end of the leadpipe, you have a different problem which might require reaming the receiver.

My 1940s French Besson Meha takes a standard contemporary mouthpiece -- Bach, Pickett, etc. I can't be certain, but believe the receiver is original. Try wrapping your mouthpiece shank with a strip of paper and see if it fits better that way. If so, you could then use tape around the shank as a semi-permanent solution unless you want to have a repair tech take a look at it.

Is it a Kanstul built French Besson? Is it a Paris built French Besson. Is it not a "French" Besson? Is it a London-England Besson? Is it a post-Kanstul Indian made French Besson?

Depending on what it is, it might be a worn receiver in any case.
