Daughter will get a bas for Christmas.
What method/book/youtube channel....would you recommend for her to learn ?

The same answer that is routinely given to new trumpet players on this site.

Get a good teacher. Not just a good bar band bass player, but a local pro that knows how to actually read music, not just tabs (if that), would be a good place for her to start.

There are a lot of videos online for bass, and sites like TalkBass where people have discussions similar to the forums here, but just like with trumpet, it's best to start out with someobody that can keep her away from bad habits and teach her good ones.

THIS.☝️☝️☝️☝️ TH needs a “like” button.

You can find tons of self taught guys, some of whom are good players, but find someone who understands and reads music, in addition to being able to duplicate what’s on a recording.
