I noticed that there seemed to be a lot more activity on TH on the 24th and 25th than was normal pre-covid. These two days plus Easter are the days that anyone who can figure out which end of the horn to blow into is typically swamped (I know I was - just looking at TH now). Is that not typical this year?
Did everyone just find time to post in addition, or were a lot of players idle this year? _________________ Ron Berndt

I know a couple of people who didn’t get work this Christmas who normally do. There’s a number of factors that can go into this (schedule, saying “no” too many times before, not enough $ for the job), but I think work is closer to the what it was pre-covid.
That said, some institutions still stuck to virtual services only due to the new variant. There is also the continuing trend of “Electric Guitars for Jesus” type music slowly replacing more “traditional” Brass Quintet services. |
