Can anyone provide a link to a recording of Sonata for Trumpet by Handel? _________________ "Disregard gullible obsessions such as: the kind of metal that intruments should contain, new-fangled mouthieces, tampering with the embouchure unnecessarily." Dr. Colin

The Handel Concertos and Sonatas listed in various music catalogues are transcriptions. Bernard Fitzgerald did several transcriptions from oboe works and Maruice Andre recordings are also transcriptions from oboe and flute and violin pieces through the Andre publications (French).
W.A. Mozart did not compose for solo trumpet as far as I know. The Leopold Mozart is standard in the literature but this was Wolfgang's father.
True. WA Mozart DID write a trumpet concerto. Evidence is in a letter found written to his father, Leopold, where he tells of its successful premiere in Salzburg.
The works has not been found. Like many of Mozart's lost works, he sold manuscripts to the fish market because he was always needing money to support his overextended (party) lifestyle.

I'm refering to the Sonata, which, if I remember correctly, is a transcription originally written for oboe. _________________ "Disregard gullible obsessions such as: the kind of metal that intruments should contain, new-fangled mouthieces, tampering with the embouchure unnecessarily." Dr. Colin

I thought the trumpet concerto was lost in a fire? I figured Mozart was too young to be partying at the time.

I shall eat my words I'm also now pretty sure it is not the concerto you're thinking of, sorry can be of no help but suggest that maybe if you found out the purpose of that transcription it would give some hints maybe?

Doesn't stop the young nowadays does it?

Do you know what the original key was for the Sonata?
There are transcriptions by Billaudot (Collection Marie-Claire Alain) of sonatas that were originally for violin & harpsichord in F major and A major. THese are for Trumpet and Organ, and were recorded on Erato STU 70954, I believe with Maurice Andre.
I'm sure there are other transcriptions of the oboe sonatas (which I think are in C and G), but I'm not sure of speicific recordings of those.
The Musser transcription is out of print from Sam Fox. David Baldwin has an edited trumpet part here:
