Hi,
I was testing a Kanstul 700 last saturday and it was in great shape.
Only one ding near the bell logo...
...and this spot on the leadpipe:
Is this red-rot?
I ask because the shape is correct but not the color. It's not pink.
Here is a close-up:
If it's not red-rot, what is it?

I agree, this is not red rot.

Dry the lead pipe with a swab. Look down it from the receiver. If there is a crater that corresponds with the missing lacquer, then it is red rot. If it is smooth in that spot, then it is not. |
