Could you help me build a fundamentals routine? I want to find something that touches range, finger dexterity, and ideally helps with jazz improv. Any ideas appreciated, thanks! |

Lots of options, but an easy place to start would be with Michael Sachs' "Daily Fundamentals." He includes several proposed warm up routines that take you through the fundamentals. Stephen Dunn's "Daily Routines" is another good option.
You could then add or substitute scale studies that might be of more use for improvisation. Zaferis mentioned Fraedrich's "Scales Studies for Improvisation." That's an excellent resource, as is Fraedrich's "A Daily Dose of Scales for Improvisation" or Rich Willey's "Scale Force." |
