Parker’s is far and away your best bet. Call them first to check their stock list. Pro zone are very good but they are based in Chesham which is a big step out of town. |

If you have time, visit both shops. I've been to both, although it was a couple of years ago.
The Yamaha shop had a good staff, but unfortunately few horns and nowhere to try them out - just the showroom floor amongst the pianos and other instruments.
Phil Parker's had a much bigger selection and practice rooms downstairs you could use. The staff was knowledgeable, which you'd expect of a brass specialty shop. _________________ John

I popped into Parker's when I was visiting London. I had an excellent experience. Top notch folk in there. I don't expect much has changed but they had an excellent selection of high end trumpets. _________________ Kevin |

Thanks everyone for chiming in!
I spend more than 3 hours at Phil Parker's and had a fantastic time. Very nice and helpful folks. I made an appointment, and they told me in advance which of the models, that I was interested in, they had in stock.
Got to try a large variety of Bach, Schilke, Yamaha and Shires instruments. Ultimately the Yamaha Chicago Bb was the clear winner for me, but the difference compared to my old B&S was not big enough to justify the price tag (for now). _________________ Berlin-based freelancer
