Foo-foo embouchure for higher notes?

I am assuming that the foo-foo playing that Chet and others played with, called for a more open embouchure setting. Can that be sustained above the staff as you reach for High C, maybe beyond? Or does one need to go to a more conventional embouchure as you ascend? Thanks.
