Sounds like a good plan! I'm especially curious about the 7660. That's one of the only CBs I've never played.

What did you think of it, and what do you normally play?

Carolbrass just increase the price of their trumpets between 20% and 40% at the least here in Europe. They may remain attractive prices, but much less than yesterday.

This makes sense. I just got a quote on a custom 4440 and I was surprised at how high it was. Thanks.
Still love my Carols, but new ones aren't the screaming deal they were.

I have the 506 and a nickel silver version, the 530, which are both great vanilla trumpets (my son plays the 530). I have a 7770, which I don't like quite as much. I also have some of the earlier Mauriats, which are similar to this trumpet and have the same leadpipe:

I like almost everything CB makes. I've played through a lot of their horns at a convention and also at a shop. It makes sense to me that they'll start charging more. I even like their mouthpieces (I have a 3c and a 1.5). I feel like the quality control is really strong.

99% sure the ones I have are CB. Same leadpipe that CB has on their Baro trumpet and all the parts are interchangeable.

I had a Carol 5060H-GSS about a decade ago. I don't remember how it played really as I sold it to by a different trumpet, but I also haven't picked up another Bb trumpet since that I thought was a better instrument. Different, yes, but not better. It wasn't 'special' but it was a great instrument that I wish I'd kept because I got it when they were still a real bargain from Thomann's. I'd love to play it again and see what I think of it now, years later. Alas, with the increased prices I'm not tempted to buy one, I'd want to play it again first. Where as I originally bought it because it was a bargain and I was curious about the fuss
