I've had these for years and put them on Trumpet Herald a few times.
It's good that you did, too. Maybe someone who looks at them will learn much of the "advice" given by others is horse hockey.

Great perspective. I wish someone had told me this in high school...

Air pressure must increase for dynamics to increase. When you play efficiently there is less air flow, not more.

The violin bow will not go "faster" across the strings unless more force is applied to the bowing action.

Mechanics and playing as a whole -

We talk a lot about the individual 'mechanics' of playing - lip control, tongue, breathing, air pressure / flow, rim pressure, etc.

It's important to realize that all of those items are interrelated and it is difficult to change one without affecting the others. The goal is to learn and develop the appropriate BLEND of mechanics that achieves good sound so that active thought can be on the music, and not on the mechanics.

From 'learning' and 'good practice' comes the skill of 'play by sound' and the mechanics will 'be there' and 'happen' as needed.

The 'learning' and 'practice' period is where that BLEND is developed - attention is needed to know when and what type of blend produces the desired sound.
