There are several exercises that have been recommended on some of the Trumpet Herald boards. Are any of these helpful in developing a BE? Thanks in advance.

Jerry Callet spit buzzing.

The pencil exercise

The Cat Anderson 20 minute "G" played super softly.

Clarke studies played super softly.

Lip slurs played with no pressure, by holding the horn in the palm of your hand.

Leadpipe buzzing.

Note bending (bending the pitch of a note a half step lower, and then returning to the original pitch, by lip action alone, not by using the valves).

Any others that my feeble little brain may have forgotten.

Tom

Tom,

I do the TCE tonguing (plus spit-buzz when walking in the forrest). I also do TCE on some of the BE exercises like tongue-on-lips, on the repeat when doing advanced lip-slurs. There are some other BE'ers that use TCE, like Bert.

I also think the Caruso exercises are good in this regard. Lex you do BE & Caruso?

Mouthpiece buzzing and lip buzzing is counterproductive for many BE'ers.

Ole
