Has any player here used or is currently using a Denis Wick 4X mouthpiece.
If so, please give me your opinion.

I used to play the 3 sizes for a little bit. Didn’t like the rim at all, felt rather flat and had a sharp inner edge. Sold them quickly. _________________ 2019 Martin Schmidt eXcellence

Were you referring to the #3 cornet pieces or trumpet?
I've played both Wick 5 and 5B cornet pieces and, as you say, they have a flat rim with a fairly sharp inner edge. I like them for a BB sound.
So I ordered a Wick 5 trumpet mouthpiece and I think it came from a different planet. It's described as a "traditional cup" but I found it quite shallow and producing a very bright tone. It has no bite at all at the inner rim; very rounded. As such, I found it unplayable.
In every way, the #5 trumpet piece is completely different from the #5 cornet piece. _________________ Getzen Eterna 700, Eterna 800

I was referring to the trumpet mouthpieces.
I was given the 5X by a bandmate and I've been using it for band playing for about a week. The shallow cup is pretty good in the high range stuff. Strangely, I find the cup very soft but way too small (16.00 ). But I like it enough to give the larger, 16.50 4X a go.
