Tired of Schlossberg and Colin's Flexibility studies?

Last night I pulled out my copy of Bach's Cello Suite Prelude No 1. Quite a challenge all these big "flexes". And at the same time trying to make it sound musical and play it clean.

One piece that probably will call for more and more improvements as we go on playing this. My trumpet teacher, a student of a student of Maurice Andre was a Master in playing this.

Truer words were never spoken, i only attempt this piece on the freshest lips, but it's always close by for a run through, just to listen to some of the great passages.

thanks for the reminder Dieter, have fun with it.

It wasn’t that many years ago at ITG, Peter Bond of the Metropolitan Opera performed the complete suite as part of a recital.
