I am a high school senior looking for a solo with a slow lyrical part and a technically challenging part from a list of perscribed solos. I played Maid of the Mist (Clarke) last year so somthing in the same ballpark would be nice.

You have to select event type then type solo trumpet.

Your link does not take me to a list of solos.

The site is pretty weird, but I figured it out. Click "Event Type," enter "Trumpet Solo" in the new "Event Type" field, and filter the results by grade level (all grades are auto-selected, so you have to click them to exclude.

@Beanboy128 I'm really fond of the Ropartz. How long of a piece are you looking for? There are some really long pieces on that A list.

I can go whatever length but 9 mins is the longest. Cuts can be made unless otherwise specified (Arban's carnival of Venice has no cuts)

Still doesn't work for me. I'll let somebody else figure it out for me.

Well, the best advice I can give is to hop on YouTube and/or Spotify and listen to as many of these pieces as you can. Pick 3-5 out and take your list to your next lesson; your teacher can help you pick a good fit for you.

A word of caution: The pieces on the Grade A list vary drastically in difficulty.

I don't know who the looney toon was that put the Mozart Concerto on there. I certainly wouldn't have. There are some other real tough buggers on the list, too. Just make sure your ambition doesn't write a check that your face can't cash. (And by that I mean: It's great to challenge yourself, but at the end of the day you want to pick something that you will be able to NAIL to the wall when the time comes.)
