My favorite line in the previous Wiki article is “He played in school bands and when he graduated from high school, he got a job with the Stan Kenton Orchestra.”

Great stories from a great player about a bygone era. I'll never understand though why a host would introduce a musician by saying "here's the best player you've never heard," thereby insulting both his guest and the audience. _________________ Jim Hatfield
