Thank you for these! As someone who needs to get my piccolo trumpet chops in shape, these are a great reference for the etudes in the book. _________________ Getzen 3051 Custom

Another fantastic Etude!
This has really inspired me to make sure I work out all of my horns! So often my Eb horn and picc are in their cases until I play the Messiah or the Haydn.
I need to put them in rotation with some of these Etudes! _________________ Getzen 3051 Custom

EXCELLENT idea! And these etudes are fantastic for just quick work on the picc! _________________ Christopher Smith

Etude #105 “Bach Strings” from Piccolo Trumpet Studies by Phil Collins
The time has come - we’ve reached the end of the line with these etude videos. This is the last video I’ll post for quite awhile.
What started off as a small project to record a few etudes that could be used as a reference for students where none existed - ballooned into a gigantic project when our performances stopped in early 2020. Prior to 2020 - I had recorded 24 etude videos over 5 years… and today I am posting video number 642. That is 617 videos recorded over two and a half years! (I actually stopped recording over a year ago - I just paced out when the videos were released)
When everything was shut down in 2020, it was an extremely stressful situation for all of us who make a living performing to large groups of people. My situation was made more stressful by not having tenure with the San Diego Symphony and having committed to not returning to the Montreal Symphony. Recording these videos in the manner that I did (no edits) allowed me to continue to keep that performing “blade” sharp. It also gave me a plan and something to do - and some sense of control in a time when everything seemed wildly out of control.
As many of you will remember - I started off recording deep in my parking garage. That seems like a lifetime ago!
Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way - particularly Tim Saeger, Jim Wilt, and Scott Sutherland for your help getting me off the ground with all things trumpet, audio and video related.
And a HUGE thank you to all of you who have taken the time to listen and follow along these last years! 642 videos is a lot - a couple of them I’m actually quite proud of!
You all have been amazing. Posting content online is a daunting experience. In a community where everyone has their own thoughts and opinions on everyone else’s capabilities - you surprised me with your kind comments and support. I can only hope I have positively contributed to the trumpet and brass community with these videos.
Thank you all again. If you are ever in San Diego, I hope you’ll attend a symphony concert and come say hello after!

Chris:
I, for one, really appreciate these videos. They've helped provide an excellent example during COVID and being away from other musicians/brass players.
Thanks and fantastic job!
