Indeed, sometimes one has to read an article several times to understand the meaning of the title: "Mark Twain: How I Edited and Agricultural Paper (Once)" |

Wow, the article at the hyperlink reminds me a lot of a former member’s contributions in both verbosity and difficulty in deciphering.
If anyone thinks that this thread is questioning Josh’s work ethic, if they can get past all of the off topic discussion they will see that the OP and all of the on topic posts are extremely complimentary towards Josh. |

Perhaps his recommendation had more to do with the fact that a horn, just like a classic car, is only original once. Those of us that follow classic cars know that a well worn original can be more valuable that a fully restored version.
Even if the value of the horn is not taken into consideration, the preparation for a quality re-lacquer can negatively affect the playability of a horn. As far as being a "nasty business", it can be but it doesn't have to be. As someone who has been spraying lacquer for over three decades, proper protection in the form of respirators along with adequate ventilation goes a long way to making spraying lacquer much less of a "nasty business". |

That's a good point but in this case, Josh knows my priority is how a horn plays not it's collectability. So in this example, the option of relacquering the horn was for cosmetic purposes regardless of maintaining it's originality. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn."
