He hadn't posted here in a few years, but what he had to say was always insightful. Many of us enjoyed his explanation of the 19/30s exercise.

It was my privilege to spend an afternoon with him in Nashville several years ago while trying out and buying a horn he had for sale.

Tribute to a life well lived

Sad news. Aside from being simply one very cool cat and valued contributor here, Rusty was not only a talented and versatile musician, but excelled in his work in photojournalism. The guy could write and shoot like nobody's business.

I always enjoyed our discussions about setting up his shoots, whether on-the-scene at music festivals, the Nashville flood, or wherever his travels took him. A good guy that I feel fortunate to have known, he sure will be missed.

Check out his work and give a final salute ...

Have a bon voyage Rusty.

My previous post too long and cluttered. See below.

I have the PDF file and thought I could just copy and paste the text, but ended up with the same jibberish as did Kehaulani.

Easier to go to the source:

I get an AdBlock block on that link.

What is an "Adblock block"? The link goes directly to the pdf; there are no ads present. I'm running Adblock Plus, and it sees nothing to block.

Sorry, I have AdGuard. It won't let me access your link, but if other readers can access yours, that's all that counts.

Rusty's 19/30's exercise set me on the correct path to fixing my embouchure. Thanks Rusty. You will be missed.

Oh darn!

I hope it was a peaceful passing surrounded by loved ones. I always enjoyed his posts and interchanges. Fare thee well, old chum. You were well appreciated and will be missed.
