Hello all,

I'm excited to share this with you! The "Wixie" is a 3 in 1 mute that can function as a "wah-wah" mute, pixie mute, and salt shaker mute. You get three distinctive sounds out of one mute by configuring it with the included attachments. I demonstrate the concept in the video below.

I have this mute available in the form of a pre-order through my website, with an estimated ship date of 9/1/23. The pre-order pricing is discounted substantially, and pre-orders will come with an additional salt shaker attachment with a different hole configuration. Standard pricing will commence on 9/1/23.

Please post here or reach out with questions/comments/etc you might have about this new product!

Here is an example of a different salt shaker configuration that would be included with the pre-orders. I've not settled on this configuration yet, id like to have something that produces a contrasting sound to the other standard configuration. More soon.

That salt shaker mute is a unique sound. It's halfway between a straight and cup. I think I can definitely use that.

I loved both videos! Straight to the point. One minor suggestion: play a couple of notes with an open trumpet so we can hear the overall volume effect of these mutes relative to an open horn.

I'm preordering now.

Hi Matt, thanks! That's a good observation about the videos and something that occurred to me when I was editing the second one. I will definitely do that in any future vids.

You will have an email from me with updates soon.

I'll be interested in playing around with your mute, it looks like you've got some innovation going.
Best,
-Lionel

Do you also plan to make a 6-in-1 mute eventually?

Haha, well let's not get too crazy! But seriously, no. No plans at the moment for other combo mutes. I have a Harmon design percolating at the moment but that will be some time from now.

Hey all, im extending the presale through 9/4, so these are still available at the reduced price over the weekend. After 9/4 they will rise from $69 to $89.
The metallic blue came out pretty good I think!
