American Triumph Harry Peddler & Sons Trumpet??

Hello All Hope this post finds everyone well. I recently was given an American Triumph Harry Peddler & Sons trumpet, made in Elkhart Ind. Serial number 74565, which I thinks puts it at year 1952. Horn is in decent shape, some dings, compression seems ok, valves work freely. Cleaned the horn in & out thoroughly. Good sound from it. However, compared to my Holton Collegiate (circa 1965; which I understand was considered a student horn then; but a solid very well made horn); the Peddler seems kind of cheaply made. Doesn't seem to be as sturdy for lack of a better word. Valves seem to be "tinnier" than my Holton valves and the spring set up at the bottom of the valve casing seems like a flimsy set up. Anyone familiar with these Peddler's? Just curious as to what you think about them. Thanks.

Those Pedler American Triumph trumpets were only meant to be a student model and that company never made any professional instruments. Your assessment about quality is correct and they currently have little value. Pedler sold them as stencils to other retailers and they show up with many different names on them.

Hello All. I asked about this horn recently & got some answers as to the type of horn it is; that being a no frills basic student model. I noticed something though, & I was wondering if anyone out there noticed the same thing if they are familiar with this horn. (FYI, bell is 4 1/4" diameter compared to my Holton 4 3/4"). Playing this horn, whether I use a tight backbore or "regular" back bore mouthpiece, it seems you can't over blow this horn, or it will "jump" to the next note. This can happen with any valve combination. In comparison, this does NOT happen with my Holton. Thanks!!!
