I finally located a source for these great books. In Claude's pedagogy course in the 1980s he mentioned that everyone should get all of Pappy Mitchell's books. But, at that time they were already hard to find.

In a recent interview I did with Bob O'Donnell, John Rosenburg, and Tom Holden all of them mentioned the books again. I finally located a source and here are the links to get them.

You can order the first two books now and the others will be available soon.

I will put more of a description of each book on the respective pages. I have these books myself except for book 3.

Claude emphasized building a library of excellent method books and thankfully these can be obtained again.

I bought #2 & 3 from India of all places. While they didn't look used, they looked like they were in a storage warehouse for a very long time. If you are ever in the market for an antique Columbia or HMV Gramophone, India is the place. Several thousand were shipped there from London right after WW2, and then 1) the country broke up after independence in 1947, AND 2) vinyls came out and machines got electrified and got diamond needles. So someone there was stuck with a whole bunch of time-capsule perfect acoustic wind-up phonographs that are beginning to show up on eBay!

Jeff,

Thanks for this, I think I mentioned to you a while back I had found book 1, but couldn't get any of the others, so I will probably get books 2, 3 and 4 from you if you think its worth while.

This is an excellent book. I'm working on the first book. How long should you play each lesson if it comes easy for you?

You move on when you're ready to move on (and not before). When I started, I did a lesson a day. Then went to a lesson every two days, etc.
