I am looking for recommendations for a teacher that excels in helping players with embouchure issues. It would be very helpful to get a couple of names of teachers who have a reputation for being able to help sort out and correct problems. A bit of background, I have played for many years, up to now most things have worked quite well. Recently I started having issues with both attacks and range. My chops feel great, once I warmup attacks become iffy and only air comes out. After twenty to thirty minutes of warmup, I stumble when going above the staff, C Trumpet, only air comes out. When I am only a few minutes into my warmup everything feels great, it's just after I warmup that the problems arise. So, who is known for their problem solving skills? Someone in fairly close proximity to Michigan would be great, but not necessary. |

Some food for thought. It may have nothing to do with your embouchure formation. It’s just a flap of skin. If you’re getting air, your embouchure or air or both might be too tense.
Good luck! _________________ Andrew Harms, DMA

There might be medical or age-related issues. Any recent illness, injury, 'changes', medications, etc. - if there have been, then best to discuss with your doctor. _________________ Most Important Note? - the next one!
