Hey Batman:

Although range is a natural result of correct tone-production, that does not mean that by developing a tremendous sound in the staff is magically going to produce a g above high c. Rather, by consistently practicing into the high register from the middle and working your 'comfort zone' ever upwards, you'll develop the high register you need.

A student who has a great sound in the middle of the staff needs primarily dedication, determination, and time to expand this 'comfort zone' upwards.

Citizens,
Thankyou for your input, I feel especially honored by the fact that the system administator of the Trumpet Herald also posted on this thread. I have learned about Stamp what other posters have found out about other Schools of thought. This thread ,while being thought provoking, has set a milestone........to my knowledge it is the first thread in the Stamp forum that went 2 pages! Congrats. Enjoy your day and don't Bb.

Batman has a point with the 3rd chair player. I know, I was a technical player and my chops were my Weakest Link. It takes a good teacher to incorporate all aspect and take the best techniques for each methodology. Some are natural and don't have to think about the techniques, some need a little guidance in certain areas. Noone has a magical trumpet pill, it is basically a combination of proper technique, consistent practice, and a little luck...
