Hello all,
I have been practicing A LOT lately, and something strange has happened. I took Friday off because we were out of school, and I had been practicing a lot. Well, Saturday I added the SLS Seconds to my Caruso studies on the Middle D,E interval, I could not play a D or E louder than f. Everything above and below that was just fine, and I could play them at ff. Any ideas? I don't know if this could be a cause, but I have developed a small zit above my lip, and I cut it open(bled like crazy) shaving. This probably isn't the cause, but has anybody out there had a similar experience?

If you play with a wide open setting, the lip can refuse to buzz when trying to play at high volumes. Try putting your chops a little closer together. This sounds like unusual advice, but it has ocaisionally worked for me and some students.

I have a very rolled in setting. I doubt I could get my lips any closer together.
