Propranolol

Commonly known as Inderal.

PS - How have you done with the advice in the book "A Soprano On Her Head" I assume you have read it considering your screename. Great book on performance anxiety by Eloise Ristadt.

A quick Google on your mystery drug yields this:

In pharmacology, all drugs have a generic name: Tylenol is Acetaminophen, Aleve is Naproxen, Amoxil is Amoxicillin, Advil is Ibuprofen, and so on.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra, and announced today that they have settled on Mycoxafailin. Also considered were: Mycoxafloppin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixadun, and Alimpdixafixi.

Viagra is now available in liquid form. FDA officials today announced the release of the wonder drug, Viagra, in a new, easy-to-take liquid form. It is sold under the pharmaceutical name "Mydixadud." Now, when a man comes home from work in the evening, he can pour himself a stiff one.

And this:

13¢ Bob Opens New Business

13¢ Bob

To celebrate his successful film career, local bum 13¢ Bob has announced that he is starting up a new business, entitled "13¢ Bob's Love Shack." Bob is proud to offer a new, more potent alternative to Viagra, called Mydixadrupin. According to Bob, Mydixadrupin contains over four times the power of Viagra, and suits his love life perfectly. 13¢ Bob is excited to share his secrets with the community, and assures you that 100% of the profits made from his new business will go towards buying him new bottles of beer. Bob is a Seattle resident, and has come to be known as "13¢" Bob due to his habit of begging on street corners for the exact amount of 13 cents, which if collected from enough citizens, adds up to the price of a beer. Call 1-800-13-CENTS to order.

Hehe, seems like your teacher might've set you up for that one.

The user "soprano on myhead" has posted from the same IP address as the user "Ron Burgundy." This user also appears to have posted as "oprah is a babe" and "orenthal resets". IP addresses do not provide conclusive proof, but users are invited to read posts by the above users in draw their own conclusions about the identity and credibility of these posts.

Thank you.

Hmm,

I'm going to keep a lookout for this member who is posting from multiple accounts from the same IP. Unless it's a family of trumpet players or something, it's quite suspicious.

Its not suspicious in the least. He's just a plain ol' common troll. They've been around since the beginning of internet discussion forums and lists.

Hi everyone
I am new to taking auditions. I am an undergraduate trumpet player majoring in music performance. The graduate asst. at my school suggested taking beta blockers. I asked the violin teacher what I should get and she said I should take something called "mydixadrupin" but when I went to the pharmacy they laughed at me! Can someone please tell me the name of a real beta blocker and what is so funny about what the violin teacher suggested?

Mark:

Sounds like that violin teacher is pulling your leg! But weren't you already taking beta blockers for auditions when you were at CCM and IU?

Keep duellin'!!!

P.S. Know any good chiropractors?
