I am a comebacker and made a key mistake of listening to a Sergei Nakariakov CD from when he was 15 - unbelievable !! Why was this a key mistake you ask? It made me want to play much better than I am currently capable. Anyway I have decided the only way I am going to improve is to take (a few) lessons. I was wondering if anybody knew a good teacher in the Corning/Ithaca/Binghamton NY area?

Thanks for any help

Hi lexiea,

I know how you feel ... it was how I felt at ITG this past June. I figured I had two choices, either put the horn back in the case and forget about it or work my butt off. I've chosen the latter route!

Your decision to find a private teacher is a great choice. You can read all you want, and you can get all the advice you can here, but that's not a substitute for having someone knowledgeable hear (and see) you play., and who can guide you on your journey!

Regarding your search for a teacher, if Ithaca isn't too far to travel, you might get in touch with someone on the faculty at Cornell. Happy hunting!

I would suggest contacting Ithaca College. They have 2 professors of trumpet.
