Can someone tell me what contains this book?
and what is a difference beetween Trumpet Big Book and - The Piccolo Trumpet - both by Hickman David are available at http://www.dmamusic.org/tromba/index.html

Should I buy both? or only Big Book? What do you think about it?

Thank you

I have them both at home, but can't recall the differences. Hopefully somebody else will fill in and I can delete this post; otherwise, I'll check when I get home. The Big Book has more excerpts, and as I recall that, while there is overlap, both are worth having (I have them both). The other "standard" picc method books are the two-volume set by (Gerald?) Webster. I consider these four books (two Hickman, two Webster) my essential "starter" picc books. So far, I've not made it beyond them! - Don

I would order both books. I just ordered them a few weeks ago and they are different. The big book has tons of information about equipment, mouthpieces, literature, tuning, and other important topics. The other book contains etudes and duets. They are a good pair of books to own.

You will also want to pick up both of Webster's picc. books. The 2 by Webster and the 2 by Hickman are absolute must have books.

Whats in the Webster books? I have Mel Broiles Private Practice that among other literature has 20 Piccolo Trumpet Studies that are pretty good.

Thanks,
Phil
