This has been bugging the heck out of me! La Virgen de la Macarena, cadenza at measure 46. What fingerings did he use? My fingers end up in a knot if I use traditional fingerings. I've can do better using 3,3,23 sequence. Wadda ya think? |

I, personally, think you need to go back to the Clarke Technical Studies.
No, really......most people use regular fingerings. I do not have any video of Mendez playing this particular solo, so I can't check for sure......but I am almost positive he played regular fingerings. I did see him perform the piece live, but I wasn't watching to see.
