I'm adding 3rds to my routine. Should I still repeat the 2nds exercise again later in the day?
Thanks |

The way Carmine gave the stuff to me was to always play the Six Notes and the 2nds every day. As he added more intervals one interval would replace another EXCEPT for the 2nds. He just had me start every day with the Six Notes and the 2nds and then go on to the rest of the assignments.
Eventually, in 3-4 months you get on a schedule of playing all the interval exercises at least once a week, but I kept doing the 2nds every day (out of habit I guess) for the next 10 years or so.
Carmine would never tell you how to warm up, but he did say that one of his students felt completely warmed up after playing the Six Notes and the 2nds. I have always added the harmonics to those two and then just noodling around for about a minute or two. |
