I've played the Merian Sizzler and the Merian E. Has anyone played the "Personal"? What did you think of it? Thanks.

I've played both the Merian S & E. They're great pieces -- big sound, lights up fast, & easy to play. If you know of anyone who has a Merian C for sale, direct them my way!!!

Thanks to Don Herman, I tracked down Leon Merian in Florida and got my answer straight from the source:

"The personal has a wider, fuller sound ...V cup.It could be considered more legit sounding also but really gets out there. It
is extremely comfortable and open, a bit deeper cup than the S.
Many of the players who have bought it say that they love it for its sound which is really gorgeous. Great response. Not a screamer like the sizzler. Hope this answers your question Mark. Let me know................Warm Regards, LEON"

What a great guy.

The LMPG is a great sounding mouthpiece. That is it's strength IMHO. Warm, rich sound. Surprisingly open blow for a #27 throat. I suspect the backbore is pretty open. The sound is very broad.

The one thing I would add to what Leon said is that the rim falloff is very steep--i.e. not much "bite". Like any other mpc, you really have to try it to see how it works for you. I would say, if you think it might, it's worth the price (not excessive) to find out. You'll love the sound.
