Mr Jeam! ---thankyou...

Mr.Vivace! - "it seems you need to have some high chops to begin with."

???

...what do you mean?...page 4 5 & 6 [4 days worth of practice] does'nt go above a high d.

This book is'nt for beginners...however...to quote Cat..

"Relax - allow your lips to vibrate properly. Will power is one of the main factors determining what we can hope to achieve. So just a word to the wise will be sufficient.
Have that get - up - and - go - attitude!"

Or the 2 month into it, comeback player.

I am embarrassed to say that for the mostpart, the range required to increase my range is just too much for me at this stage. I am playing some of the low and mid-range exercises. I figure it can't hurt and might even be some benefit. Anyone agree?

Without getting too technical....yes that might be a bit soon...but of course you could always do the long g / long c thing then substitute your own transposition of the following exercises. No harm in doing it like that as part of a bigger comeback picture of other exercises aswell!

Try Eddie Lewis trumpet pyramid books as a comeback ..it's well set out!!

the first exercises in the book I think were helpful as long-tone exercises. If you're patient enough to sit down and hold a G for 20 minutes, that's cool. Personally I believe playing things like Clarke would be a little more benefitial (spelling??) BETTER for you, as you get in some finger coordination work as well.

I did play with that book for a while; I agree that it's not for everyone (especially not beginners..)

Anyone else got any thoughts on this book? I was thinking about giving it another go... now I don't have to go dig up a copy heeheehee thanks much!

yeah the book isn't for beginers. I think that once you learn to use your air like Clarke teaches this book would be just great if you really wana get a higher range with a fatter sound.
