Hi everybody:

The Boyde Hood drills can be downloaded from here:

http://www.trumpetherald.com/files/HoodMPCdrills.pdf

Have fun, don't overdo the buzzing ---

Thanks to Roger Wood for setting them in Sibelius and Roger & Mike for clearing this with Boyde.

Best regards,
TD

JUST REMEMBER: Trumpet in Bb. First note is an F on the keyboard. Do these with keyboard. You will see better results with a pitch refrence.

Mike and Roger -
Thanks so much for your efforts to make these available to everyone on TH.

Does following the instruction "mouthpiece and trumpet" mean that one should play all the lines from an exercise on the mouthpiece, then go back and play all lines on the trumpet? Or, should one play through each line once on the mouthpiece, then again on the trumpet before moving to the next line?

My guess is that it is the former, but I thought I should ask rather than assume and get it wrong.

Actually Matt,

Boyde just has people do these just as mouthpiece drills. Of course there is nothing preventing you from doing these on the trumpet. However, I promise as Boyde's website comes to be, you will see and hear his own words.

Thanks for clarifying, Mike. It sounds like Boyde's future web site will be a great resource for people.

Mike,
Boyde actually had me do these on both the mp and the horn, as I wasn't getting what I needed from the Stamp-Hood warm-up. I did it that way for years, with great success.
