Hi,
I had a question about Mendez regarding his way of breathing.
I have read that his opinion about the guantity of air used in trumpet-
playing was the sane as in normal conversation. Thanks !

He was speaking about exhaling into the trumpet. . . it should not be violent.
Mendez was not a big person. He weight about 145 pounds and was perhaps 5 ft. 7 in. He did not have particularly large lungs, but he was incredibly efficient with his exhalation and could play 45 seconds at mezzo-forte.

Thanks,
Like the famous Swedish singer Jussi Björling. They set a burning candle
before his mouthe when Jussi was singing in FFF some operapieces.
And the candles flame did not flutter.
