I was always incouraged to let the audience and the other musicians on stage affect what I play in a solo. And like what about feed back from the rythm section... or if you have a comping player like Oscar Petterson who leads the solost?? And if he's the session leader?? I think that cool, to think about not putting too much in. And to lay back sometimes and just relax. But about not letting others influence you??
