I just wanted to chime in and point out that these boys can really play! I've recently gotten recordings of Mahler 3 & 5 with the Philharmonia/Zander, and they are pretty doggone good--maybe my new favorites, if you can believe it. I also have a recording of the Verdi Requiem with the Philharmonia and Giulini. Man! I just keep listening to the Dies irae and beginning of the Tuba mirum over and over. That's some real serious brass playing! It reminds me that I need to invest in better stereo equipment (and that I need to practice more). I'd love to hear the Philharmonia in concert. Maybe some day there will be a US tour I could make. I'm envious of you British folks who can hear them on a regular basis!

I've got the recording of Mahler 9 / Zander, which my teacher (Bob Farley) is playing on. Sounds amazing! Very nice trumpet section.
