I find when I work on double-tonguing or tripple-tonguing I salivate much more that when I play 'normally'. It doesnt affect my playing too much except when practicing long passages of multiple tonguing. Just curious as to why this happens,
And before someone else goes there: tonguing makes me wet.
There, its been said. Now lets keep it clean. I know how some of you can get.

Maybe all that tongue movement tricks your brain into thinking that you have something in your mouth which would trigger your salivation tropism.
Is this something that has been happening for a long time? Or just recently? |

Its always happend to some degree. But more so now that I've changed the way I tongue. I used to smack my tongue againts my teeth so it would make a real attack. However that wasnt condusive to getting a good sound so now I tongue much lighter. But I get more wet. Maybe it is a mind thing. If it is I dont know how I can trick my brain into believing nothing is in my mouth. Like I said, it doesnt really affect my playing, its just annoying.

I read the title of this as "Salvation" and was wondering why it wasn't in the R/P forum....

I've noticed the same thing in my playing. I'd like to hear what can be done or whether I just shouldn't worry about it.

Same thing happens to me...weird huh.
I see a trend starting. _________________ You can have oodles of technique, but if you've got no tone, it's not going to be attractive to the person hearing it. Tone comes from the inner ear -- you can't teach it. It comes from deep inside your brain -- and also your heart.
