I know I've seen this asked before but:

When running through the list of exercises once, how long should you wait before moving on to the next exercise to receive maximum benefit?

PS: I normally wait an hour before my second run through

You run 'em one after the other for 20 minutes. Take a 20 minute break and continue with the remaining exercises until all exercises have been played that are on your schedule.

Then go to your other stuff: Arban, solos, charts, etudes, etc., and follow the same 20/20 format.

You play hard (constantly) for 20 and rest 20.

Some people like the 15/15 routine, or the 30/30 routine. Pick your own poison. Carmine suggested the 20/20, so that's the way I did it for years. I was paying him to tell me what to do, so that's the way I did it.

During the 20 minute breaks I would practice piano or work on charts.
