Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with cases subjected to the high temperatures of a closed automobile? My 50 year old case has no problem as it contains no synthetic materials, but so far I don't have the nerve to leave my WJ case in a closed car. I wonder if the heat will affect glues, filler, and etc.

When you say WJ case, I assume you mean Walt Johnson case, and if that is the case, no problems bro... I have a couple and they have traveled under all conditions, cars, airplanes, ships, you name it, and you can drop your horn down a flight of stairs ( though of course none of us wants to or recommends it ), best and most protective and durable case I have owned. Heat does not seem to be an issue. No worries from my experience.
For those of you who have not seen Walt's cases:

Walt is also one of the best lead, screech, and feature trumpet players on the planet... He is a monster among great players. Check out his CD's too.

Thanks Rich,
I showed my Wild Thing trumpet to another trumpeter last evening, and I noticed that he seemed more interested in the Walt Johnson case. Another plug for Walt! _________________ Ed Taylor . . . a Messianic gentile |
