Sorry, but I did look at the horn -- its interesting, but I wonder if it actually plays well... and it seems to be somewhat of an "off" brand so....

Any idea as to pricing for 'em?

I was quoted $1200.00 (on sale). They normally go for $16-1700.00 .All I know is that they are made in Spain. The owner for NY said they play very well.

What plating option was that for? Interesting, lets keep bouncing this thread to the top to see if any TH members have actually played one....

I have tried all the Fides models ( from student to Pro) and I find them to be very consistent in quality control and sound. They are easy to play , extremely good slotting and yet not pricey. In speaking to the owner of Fides , the lacquer Classic Symphony is their best seller and at $1200.00 @ NYTC ... that's a steal!
ps: The Symphony model is easy to pick out in pix because of its unique bend in the tuning slide and backturn of the bell. The other models have standard bends.

Do they have a website? I've seen the images on NYTC, but only that one model... Are there others?

Website?

I had a chance to play a Fides(Classic Light) at the Boston GTG... I was really surprised with the response of this horn considering it's price point!

Felix only carries the very best trumpets available to him in all catagories. The customer service that comes with a purchase from NYTC is over and above from what you've probably experienced in the past!

Good luck in your search!

I remember trying one at a mini-trumpet fest that Both Felix and Nick Drozdoff hosted here in the Chicagoland Area. I'm sorry that I can't remember the model but I do remember how consistent it was and the ease of play! Good craftmanship to boot. Really nice horn for the money!

Guys: When you say "nice horn for the money" it leads me to believe they are not that good.....but only good for an inexpensive horn..." doesn't quite inspire me to buy one...., an I wrong here?

Hey, I may be a bit late getting to this post. I play a Fides Light Symphony. Got it from Felix. I love it! Brilliant sound and great valves!
If you are still checking this, hollar back at me....

Tim
Peace!

Just played the symphony model recently... the closest I can say that it plays like is a B&S Challenger II. For those of you who have played one know that it gives Bach a run for it's money. My 2 cents is that it is a very good horn overall but not quite a "Bach-killer".

Well, I got my LT Symphony from Gerry Lopez Music last week and I love the horn! It is the "smoothest" best quality trumpet I have played in years! It reminds me of a very good Bach but w/much better (and quiet) valves.

I do have to say that up close I wouldn't pick it to be a trumpet that I would rank above a Bach (maybe because of the way it looks?) BUT....

1. workmanship is very good
and
2. When played back to back recently with a Bach - for a bunch of trumpet players (amateur to professional) in a blind "taste test" - it actually came out on top! Surprising!

*BUMP*

I have been seeing these horns around for quite sometime now. I am hoping someone out here can maybe provide a little more info about them. How are they holding up? The Symphony Light model has not gotten very good reviews on the Brassreview.com website and I also find the lack of info about them somewhat sketchy.
