Different strokes for different folks.

I very recently installed a 1st trigger on a Getzen Classic Eterna Bb trumpet.

Admittedly it’s not easy, but a skilled technician can convert a Capri first slide to a saddle.

Years ago my good friend, Wayne Tanabe and his staff came up with a clever solution for vintage Bach first slides. By adding a cutaway third tube over part allows the brace to remain undisturbed, preserving appearances and playing qualities (yes, removing the spacer braces does change how these trumpets play). Or I can fabricate a traditional style Bach “wrap around” thumb saddle assembly, which are no longer available from Bach. This a great way to convert any trumpet or cornet fist slide regardless of brand.

As always, I’m willing and able to take on this modification, or any repairs you need.

I'm the owner of that trigger addition Jim refers to. I'm not much of an equipment and cosmetic freak but last night I was just looking at what must've been done and how seamless it looks. And the horn plays the same. It can be done both acoustically/mechanically/cosmetically, and done well. FWIW, LOL.
