Is anyone from the happy TH family planning on making this event? It is the single biggest annual event in jazz. This year it will be in Toronto, January 8-11.

Tons of great clinics, student bands galore from all over the world, and concerts all day and night by the likes of Rob McConnell, Michael Mossman, Mark Levine, Hank Jones, Terri Lynne Carrington, Pat Martino, James Williams, Chase Sanborn, Robin Eubanks, Slide Hampton Big Band, Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Star Big Band, Yellowjackets, Trillogy (featuring Ingrid Jensen), Metalwood....

It's always a great hang and a tremendous source of info and inspiration.

More info can be found @ <http://www.iaje.org/conference/default.htm>

You know, Pat, I would love to go. Problem is, it is a bad time in the school year for me to take off.

I would really enjoy going to an ITG conference or IAJE conference, but they always seem to tailor their times to when it would be convenient for a college instructor to go (early in the semester break). I wish someone in charge of these organizations would consider moving these events to some dates in the summer. I think a lot more secondary p.s. school teachers (and students) would attend if they moved it to summer.

Please report back on the TH with highlights!

Steve
