Currently the limitation for avatars is 6kb and 80 x 80 pixels. Unfortunately, that eliminates about 99.9% of all the pictures to choose from, and I don't have a program on my 'puter that can resize images.

Is there no automatic resizing feature so the pic displayed will only be a certain size? Plus if it's a URL, TH doesn't even host the pic.

There are lots of cool avatars I'd use, but I cannot find a single one that I can use here.

Microsoft Photo Editor has the capability to resize the picture .... it's in the form of a percentage. This comes with Microsoft Office.

Microsoft Paint has the capability as well .. comes with Windows and this one allows you to skew the picture also.

...and, folk like me with old, slow, rural dial-up access only appreciate the smaller files and faster (relatively, of course) load times!

I did use that avatar that you made for me. It's less than 12KB and 72 X 72, but when I try to use it, I get the same message telling me the limitations?!

I've been using all different size avatars and they just get resized automatically provided the file size isn't over the limit. (ie. my last avatar was 48x48)
